Hoggs Hollow Neighbourhood Real Estate
Hoggs Hollow is one of the most high end neighbourhoods in Toronto. The Hoggs Hollow area of the York Mills neighbourhood is south east of the Yonge/ York Mills intersection and boasts many sections of wonderfully enchanted green space with high end homes that include various architectural styles from Modernist to Georgian to Colonial, Tudor and English Cottage.
Hoggs Hollow was settled in 1824 and was settled by Joseph Hogg who was one of the most successful of all the millers in the area. In 1856 Joseph Hoggs sons subdivided thier fathers estate under the name "Hoggs Hollow". The subdivision of the present day Hoggs Hollow neighbourhood did not begin until the 1920's with the creation of lots, layout of raods and a small elementary school. The neighbourhood grew in stages and was completed in the late 1960's.
Hoggs Hollow was part of North York until 1998 when the City of Toronto amalgamated with 5 other municipalities.
The Hoggs Hollow neighbourhood is well connected to the rest of Toronto. For drivers there is access to highway 401 as well as other major arteries including Yonge Street, York Mills Road, Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street. For those requiring public transit the York Mills TTC station is located right at Yonge Street and York Mills Road. The York Mills Station provides access to TTC buses, as well as the subway which runs north/south.
Hoggs Hollow residents have a good choice of shopping, schools and restaurants. There are some nice shops along Yonge street just south of York Mills. For recreation there is access to paved recreational pathways, the public Don Valley Golf Course, just to the north and the private Rosedale Golf Club just to the south.
